GNCC Amateur ATV Race Report
Can-Am Unadilla GNCC

Round ten of the Can-Am GNCC series headed to New Berlin New York for the Unadilla GNCC. A total of 263 racers tackled the morning race and 238 hit the track for the afternoon race. The morning race was won by LTERACING.COM’s Angel Atwell. Angel battled early on with some of the other morning racers for the overall but she pulled ahead at the end to win the overall over second place overall finisher Michael Young from the 30+ C class. Third overall went to Yamahas Traci Cecco. Third place in the Women’s class went to Stephanie Parton on her Factory Polaris ride. Following Michael Young in the 30+ C class was Donald Peacock in second place and Gary Parmeter in third.

Mike Benson was the highest finishing utility quad on the day with his fourth place overall finish on his Four Stroke Tech backed ride. Following Mike in second was round 8 and 9 winner Robert Smith on his Big Nutz Racing backed V-force, and Hoyt Penland took third place on his factory Can-Am Renegade. Rick Cecco won the 4x4 Open class for the fourth time this season on his Factory Can-Am, followed by Bryan Buckhannon on his Can-Am in second and Jacob Kirst on his Can-Am in third. The 4x4 Limited class was won by Kevin Trantham as early race leader Factory Can-Am rider Michael Swift encountered some problems. Following Kevin was Anthony Voight in second and Lon Peters in third. Cliffton Beasley took the 4x4 Lites class win on his Factory Can-Am ride ahead of Factory Can-Am rider Jerime Dudding, Third place went to factory Kymco rider Ken Robey.

James Davidson took a two second win ahead of Jeff Seelig in the 16-19 C class and third place went to Josh Konecheck. In the 20+ C class William Payne took another win ahead of Josh Biland in second and Ryan Smith in third on his Big Nutz Racing backed ride. Danny Thompson took a commanding win in the 24+ C class ahead of Robert Brancamp and Brandon Symmes. Scottt Norton took the 36+ C class win by more than six minutes ahead of second place ride of Jeff Stover and third place’s Phil Deschamps. John Gallagher took the Super Senior win on his Polaris, ahead of Robert Conkle in second and Mike Ockerman in the third place position.

In the afternoon race, the highest finishing amateur was Brian Wolf out of the Junior A division. He edged out Polaris rider Michael Sroka and third place rider Corbin Knox. Josh Kirkland won his fifth race of the season in the College A class as he and Spencer Dickerson battle down to the wire for the class championship. Second place went to Brian Toney and third place to Thomas Koontz. Vet A was an extremely close race with Brian Foltz winning by one second ahead of Timothy Gale followed by Brian Schmid in third. They were all within 15 seconds of each other. Thomas Wright and Dave Simmons have battled all year long in the senior class. Wright took the win by less than five seconds in New York followed by Dave Simmons on his Northridge Yamaha/ITP backed ride. Glen Pritchard followed in the third place spot.

Allan Greenwood was the highest finishing B rider out of the Junior B class. He finished ahead of John Mullaney all the way from South Carolina on his Derisi Racing, Hiper Wheels, Pirelli tires backed ride. Third place went to Jesse Lowe. The College B class saw Parker Jones move up to A after wrapping up the championship, and Andrew Cornell took the win aboard his Derisi Racing, Hiper Wheels, Pirelli tires backed ride. Todd Sonnenschien finished in second place followed by Issiah Hanna across the line. Justin Petroff won the Vet B class again followed by Blaine Shick and Glenn Reed across the line. The Can-Am GNCC series returns next weekend for the Yadkinville Stomp GNCC for Round 11.
