The new season started off at a new venue. The Vero Beach Florida facility proved to be a fun place for the GNCC families and racers in attendance. The usual expectation is the Florida riders would have an advantage in the sandy soil and palmettos but this race proved the versatility of the GNCC youth riders. The top 12 overall riders were GNCC regulars from the north and some from far north of the sands of the Sunshine State.

Walker Fowler started 2007 where he left off last season with the overall win. Rounding out the top five in the 14-15 Big Wheel class were second place Greg Funk from Clinton OH, third was Morgan Moss of Hayesville, NC, Cody Mummert of Glenville, PA rode to fourth while Brandon Bolling from Powhatan, VA took home fifth.

A familiar name to those who follow the GNCC youth won the 12-13 Big Wheel race, Mr. Steward Baylor from Belton, SC. Lake Lynn, PA rider A.J. Stewart escaped the winter weather and rode to a second place finish. Third went to Zach Nolan of Arthurdale, WV, Fourth to Derrick Shaw from Buckhannon, WV and Tony Gera took fifth home to Santa Cruz, CA.

McKinnon Welborn from Boonville, NC returned to the 14-15 85cc class and showed his speed with the win. Second was Greencastle, IN rider Jesse Vermillion, third Bryce Martin from Newnan, GA, fourth Ben Prescott of Port St. Lucie, FL and fifth Shane Rizzo from Deltona, FL.

Florida rider Luke Parsons won the 12-13 85cc class with Layne Michael from Fairmont, WV on his rear wheel at the finish in second. Third was Charlotte, NC rider Trevor Barrett, fourth went to Lucas Manney from Bradenton, FL and fifth was Florida rider Garrett Johnson.

Last year’s 65cc 7-9 champ Aaron Plessinger took the win in his 7-11 85cc debut. Florida rider Brandon Blake was second, third went to Tegan Temple from West Chester, PA, fourth was Williamson, GA rider Matt Turner while Samuel Evans from St. Albans, WV earned fifth place.

The 10-11 65cc winner Lewis Dellamco from Sanford, FL showed his sand skills. Austin Lee left the snow of Bedford, IN behind with a second place ride. Nicholas Barrett from Sarasota, FL was third, Craig Delong of Morgantown, PA was fourth and fifth went to Florida rider Zach Muchard.

Belton, SC rider Grant Baylor rode a dominant race taking the win in the 7-9 65 class (the Baylor boys did their homework this winter). Second place was Ben Parsons from Orlando, FL, third was Florida rider William Dean, fourth was Max Coughlin from Tampa, FL and Kyle Johnson, another Florida rider was fifth.
