How did you get started racing?: Through Darrell Bozarth, he took me to Texas in '05.
How/When did you first hear about GNCC Racing?: Through Darrell.Donnie Ockerman proves anyone can become a star in GNCC Racing if they want it bad enough. In 2005, Ockerman just owned an ATV and rode for fun like thousands of others. Close friend (and former GNCC pro) Darrell Bozarth convinced him to try GNCC racing, and slowly but surely, Ockerman got faster and more serious about the sport. Ockerman usually had to battle Brandon Sommers in the amateur classes, but the two became friends instead of rivals. With Sommer's connections, Ockerman kept improving, and when Sommer's graduated the XC2 Class in 2007 with a title, his GT Thunder Yamaha ride went to Ockerman, who then won the 2008 Title. Ockerman followed his XC2 crown with podium finishes in XC1 at the last two races of the 2008 season. Ockerman is a humble man, but with his steady improvement, he's making a believer out of himself, and everyone else he races.
