To put the dominance of GNCC ATV Champion Bill Ballance in perspective, no one else has won the GNCC ATV Title since....the 1990s! Yes, before Y2K, before the .com bubble burst and before George W Bush even ran for office, Bill Ballance was just another young pilot hoping to make a mark. Now he's left one that may never go away. Bill's eighth-straight championship broke a tie atop the all-time leader chart with Barry Hawk, who amazingly had won seven-straight ATV titles before switching over to bikes. Topping Hawk's record seemed impossible, but for Bill Ballance, no mountain is ever considered too high. In 2007, Chris Borich put together his strongest challenge yet and Ballance again found himself up against the ropes. Butthe factor

yYamaha mannever faltered and finished on the podium in every race. Now 32, Ballance can no longer just rely on speed and endurance to win races--ever-stiffer (and younger)competition can make it hard on Bill on somedays. But no one is as prepared as Ballance, and he is known as an absolute master at setting up ATVs, both for performance and durability. As a result, his equipment always works well and gets him to the finish, and on occasion he will still bust out that all-out speed that makes him arguably the fastest person to ever race an ATV in the woods. The times have changed, but Bill Ballance's desire to win remains a constant. Someday someone will take Bill's championship, but never his place as a legend.
