The GNCC Golf Tournament Comes to Snowshoe!
GNCC Golfing comes before you go GNCC Racing again this year, with the fifth-annual GNCC Golf Tournament! This year, the event moves to the spectacular Ravens Club course at Snowshoe Resort in West Virginia. The game takes place Friday, June 22nd the day before the Moose Snowshoe GNCC kicks off with ATV racing on Saturday and bike racing on Sunday. The 18-hole Ravens Club course is one of the most spectacular in the entire nation. Check out the list of accolades:
Golf Week Magazine 2007: "18th Best Resort Course in the Nation"
Golf Week Magazine 2006: "Ranked #1 Public Access Course in West Virginia" - Fifth straight year receiving this number one ranking
Golf Week Magazine 2006: "Ranked #17 in the Top 40 Resort Courses in America"
Golf Week Magazine 2006: "Ranked #84 in the Top 100 Modern Golf Courses in US"

Better yet, there's no better chance to rub elbows with the GNCC stars - and your friends - than with a day off the track and on the links with the GNCC family. The game will be competitive, but the players surely aren't as good on the golf course as they are on the race course! So don't worry about the spikes or making sure you’ve got the right set of clubs. Just join the club by coming out and playing! And as always, Friday night’s game ends with a free dinner served by the folks who support the sport at Parts Unlimited
The GNCC Golf tournament is open to anyone and everyone, and the game is played with teams of four in a best-ball, scramble format. Golf costs $75 for each team member for a total entry of $300 per team. All signup will be conducted at the Ravens Club at Snowshoe starting at 10:30 am on Friday. Shuttles will be provided to bring golfers from the Snowshoe Village—which is headquarters for the race—down to the Ravens Club. You may also drive your own vehicle down to the golf club. The shotgun start begins at 12:15. Teams can be selected or will be assigned randomly. And the winning team will have its name engraved on the GNCC Golf Trophy, which is on display in the lobby of the Racer Productions offices.
As always, the GNCC golf tournament is used as a fund raiser for an industry charity. This year’s benefactor is the Rider Down Foundation (www.riderdown.org) which is a not-for-profit group that helps provide financial assistance, support and information for injured riders. Rider Down Foundation services all riders, amateur and pro, motorcycle or ATV.
The off-road racing industry is encouraged to sponsor a hole on the course for $250, and all proceeds go to the Rider Down Foundation. The sponsorship is tax deductible, and sponsorship will garner plenty of attention. The event is expected to garner media coverage in industry publications, as well as on the Can-Am GNCC TV Series on Versus Network. Sponsors can set up banners or product at the hole they choose to back.
