Obermeyer Yamaha/Raines Riding University/OFFROADVIKING.com XC2 rider Morgan Moss was injured last week while preparing for the 2012 season. Unfortunately he severed his ACL and underwent surgery to repair it. As a result Morgan will be unable to compete while he heals from his injury. During his absence he will be replaced by former XC1 pilot Jedediah Haines from Fairfield, Pennsylvania. Jed will bring his experience from the XC1 class to the second row with the rest of the XC2 class aboard an Obermeyer Yamaha/Raines Riding University/OFFROADVIKING.com Factory Backed Yamaha YZ250F.
Keith Obermeyer (Obermeyer Yamaha) - With the unfortunate events surrounding Morgan's ACL injury just weeks before the start of the National Enduro Series, we were left scrambling to decide how to best serve our sponsors' in Morgan absence from the first part of the season. We needed a talented and dedicated rider who was available to represent all of our current sponsors. We decided to bring Jedediah Haines on board to run the Potent 2012 YZ250F in the XC2 class in the GNCC series. Jed is super pumped at the opportunity to race on top level equipment with a great list of sponsors and team members.
Jason Raines (Raines Riding University) - "I was very upset about Morgan's injury, he has been working hard all winter and was poised and ready after using the RRU training program to come out of the off season swinging! But as we all know injuries never happen at a good time. When MO called me, I felt horrible for him. At that point we had to make a decision, we had promised our sponsors to have 2 bikes out on the track in XC2. Keith, Yamaha, Daniel and I talked about the replacement rider until Morgan was able return, we talked to many riders and the rider we all agreed upon was Jed. I have known Jed for many years and I have confidence in his speed, his dedication and his hard work. He is a perfect fit for our team and I hope this opportunity to ride for a Factory Yamaha backed team gives him the confidence to run up front each and every week. We believe in his ability both on and of the bike to represent his sponsors. I know he will work at 100% to do the best that he can, and I truly believe he can be a championship contended on the best equipment we and Yamaha will provide him. Jed is a great guy and look forward to working with him! This is an opportunity for him to show what he can do when put on Factory equipment, if he does good, he will stay on the tam for the remainder of the season, and when Morgan returns we will have the possibility of having 3 riders under the tent!"
Daniel Engle (OFFROADVIKING.com) - We're all excited to have someone like Jed on the team during Morgan's absence. Hopefully things work out in order to have three guys under the tent after Morgan returns to action. Having someone like Jed who has the speed and experience from the XC1 class will be a huge asset to the team! We wish Mo a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him return to racing as soon as possible.
