Riders: Paul Whibley (1st Place - Pro Class)

Jordan Ashburn (2nd Place - Pro Class)

Medora, Illinois would be the destination for Round 9 of the Parts Unlimited OMA National Series.

As the boys sat at the line, waiting for the flag to drop, they knew the start would be the most crucial part of the day, as the dry dusty conditions would limit visibility to almost nothing.

Obermeyer / AmPro Yamaha's Jordan Ashburn grabbed the holeshot aboard his newly outfitted Yamaha YZ250 two-stroke, edging out Whibley for the first the time all year. Jordan continued to carry the lead for the next five laps, gapping the field by almost two minutes. Unfortunately, the dusty conditions would start to affect the performance of the bike, forcing him to make a pit stop to change his air filter.  Once back on the track Jordan continued charging but Whibley had made up considerable ground. Whibs decided to make his move on a large hill climb, using his Factory AmPro Yamaha YZ450F to out power the lower displacement two strokes, passing Ashburn for the lead. From there, the two riders would finish the race one and two, with Whibley taking his 5th OMA win in a row and Ashburn standing next to him in second.

"I wasn't even sure if I'd be able to race," says Whibley. "My leg is still pretty banged up from the GNCC last weekend but I had a lot friends from New Zealand come out to support me, so I decided to go for it! It was supper dusty but overall I had a pretty good time. The AmPro Yamaha YZ450F worked awesome and the team did a great job getting it all set up for the conditions."

"I had a great time today," says Ashburn. "The Yamaha YZ250 two-stroke was unreal... it was so much fun to ride! The pit stop definitely took longer than we wanted but we had to change that air filter, the dust was really thick. I'd like to thank my mom and dad as well as the Obermeyer / AmPro Team. It's exciting to get another OMA Podium!"
