Round 8 of AMA National East Hare Scramble series and round 4 of the ATV Hare Scramble series 20 & 21 of August 2011 brings us to South Edmeston, NY., home of Thunder Ridge Sports. In case you have never raced here, it is just 4 miles north of New Berlin and a scant 2 miles south east of the famed Unadilla Valley Sports Center.

This race will be co-sanctioned with the WNYOA series, if you have been to any of their other events this group really brings out the riders and competition. Jim Simmons the owner and the crew at "The Ridge" have busy building a national level track for this event. This is the same facility which last saw the AMA National Series in the mid 90's and Scott Summers / Scott Plessinger / Tommy Norton / Steve Hatch.

The facility is nestled into the hills that line the Unadilla River Valley. You park half way up and race down to the motocross track and up to the top of the mountain, there are serious elevation changes with plenty rocks and roots and even some black sand.

The racing starts on Saturday with the PeeWee and Mini's at 8:30 on separate tracks, then on to the Mini Quads at 9:30, 11:00 1 1/2 hour Quad Novice and finally at 2:00 PM the Pro A/B Quads. Sunday 10:30 Novice, C classes, Super Senior and WNYOA specific classes race for 2 hours, the main event Pro A/B bike race is at 2 PM that race for 3 hours. This is a permanent facility so parking is appropriate and used by a variety of other events.

The cook shack includes bbq'ed chicken, ice cream, breakfast sandwiches etc. and there is even an arcade on site. For details contact Jim or KC at 607-847-6520.
