Meet Vince Picciano, a newly minted graduate of the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and new member of the JG Off Road Crew. Picciano shares his first experience wrenching for fellow newbie Rory Mead this weekend at the Rock Run GNCC, what it was like at MMI, and why he's contemplating the move north to the Allison Park, PA headquarters.

Hey Vince! What are you up to today?
Well right now I'm working at the GEICO shop with JT.

Oh, you're in Pittsburgh? I thought you were a North Carolinian?
I actually live in Cary, North Carolina, but we had a couple of shows and the Rock Run GNCC, so I'm up here for a few weeks.

Very cool. So congratulations on your new gig with JG Off Road!
Thanks! It's been awesome so far. I've already learned a lot just working with them. They're a great group of guys and girls. I'm learning a lot about the team and how they work and their expectations.

So how did a Cary, North Carolina guy find out about JG Off Road?
I graduated from MMI in Florida and I knew a guy that knew Jimmy Jarrett. Jimmy called me and asked if I wanted to come to River Ranch, which was about two hours south of Orlando, where I was living. It was a great opportunity for me, so I drove down to River Ranch and started working with the team.

Was that your first GNCC?
That was my first GNCC race. I did the motocross thing, so the GNCC race was a wake up. I'm still getting into the swing of things but it's fun and I'm loving it.

So what drew you to going to MMI?

I've been racing since I was 10. Besides just riding bikes, I knew how to work on them, but I wanted an education that I could use for a race team.

How long were you at MMI?
I was down there for two years, and I specialized in Hondas which was a good step up for this. I was down there for two years since 2008 and I just graduated April 1st. I was pretty stoked about getting a job.
