Ballance Racing YAMAHA Continued its Push for Podiums at the Big Buck GNCC
As the flag waived to start the 2011 Big Buck GNCC, XC-1 Pro rider Taylor Kiser would get a respectable start and enter the woods in 5th. Taylor made a couple quick passes and settled into 3rd where he would ride the majority of the day. Still in the hunt after he pitted, Taylor would soon find himself scrambling to keep pace with the leaders.
"About a mile after I pitted, some breaking bumps kicked me sideways and off my quad. Once I got going again, I just put my head down and tried to put in a strong finish."
Taylor would finish up the day 3rd in XC-1 Pro and would remain 4th in points for the series, just 24 points out of 1st.
Walker Fowler would again show his dominance in the XC-2 Pro-Am class.
"I felt very confident going into the Big Buck. The head cold I thought I had at the last race actually turned out to be allergies, but we have them under control now and this is defiantly my favorite race. At the start I was 3rd into the woods and was able to take the lead by the 3 mile mark. Then I tried a new strategy and pushed hard for the first hour and then settled into my pace. It worked really well, I won XC-2 and finished 5th overall for the day. This was easily my most comfortable race this season and I'm really looking forward to Loretta's."
