SUBJECT: COMPETITION BULLETIN 2011-4: Podium Burnout Prohibited
Although traditionally recognized as an acceptable mode of celebration on the podium, burnouts pose an unnecessary risk of harm to other riders, fans and staff, as well as cause property damage to podium structures and facilities. Accordingly, podium burnouts are prohibited and the 2011 GNCC Amateur and Pro Rules have been amended as follows:
Amateur Rules: Section J (6) Race Finishes:
6. Podium: Burnouts on the podium are prohibited. Violation of this provision will result in a penalty, including but not limited to fine and/or disqualification.
Pro Rules: Section K (5) Race Finishes:
5. Podium: Burnouts on the podium are prohibited. Violation of this provision will result in a penalty, including but not limited to fine and/or disqualification
