Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series Announces UTV, 50cc and Co-Sanction Dates

Morgantown, W. Va. (January 10, 2011) - Racer Productions, producer of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series, announces an updated schedule for the 13-round 2011 GNCC Racing tour. While the series dates and locations were announced previously, the updated schedule for the GNCC UTV and 50cc bike classes is now available.

The six-round UTV series will kick off on Saturday, March 12 at the Maxxis General GNCC in Aonia Pass in Washington, Ga. Side-by-side UTVs have been a part of the GNCC tour for three seasons, with the challenging GNCC courses pitting the vehicles against real off-road terrain like hills, mud, rocks and trees.

The Indy 100 GNCC in Gosport, Ind. joins the UTV tour for the first time on May 14, and the Rock Run GNCC in Altoona, Pa. debuts on May 28. The rest of the UTV rounds are set forth in the schedule below.

This year, three rounds of the GNCC Series will feature 50cc racing for bikes under the co-sanctioning of the AMA National Eastern Hare Scrambles (NEHS) and Western New York Offroad Association (WNYOA).  Now taking place on Saturday afternoons, 50cc racing will debut on April 30 at the Parts Unlimited Loretta Lynn's GNCC in Hurricane Mills, TN.

Over the years, GNCC Racing has celebrated its strong relationship with co-sanctioning partners in order to provide riders with the opportunity to earn points not only for the GNCC Series, but for their local series as well.

"We're always happy to work with great organizations such as SE&TRA, WNYOA, Mid-America, IXCR, PAHS, local AMA districts and the National Hare Scramble Series," says GNCC Trail Boss Jeff Russell. "We understand that riders want to take a shot at the GNCCs, but also compete for their local championship, and co-sanctioning just brings in more riders for both."
