There are many roads to GNCC greatness. Since the addition of the ATV Youth racing to the series only a handful of years ago ATV racing has seen an influx of up and comers that have only began to make their marks in the GNCC racing history books. The next one up is the 2010 Youth ATV Over All Champion Levi Coen. What's the next step? After the recent AMA Awards Banquet, Levi has high hopes leaving Las Vegas and heading into the vast unknown world of GNCC.

Coen has been off the quad for a while but he ready to get back to ripping it up!

Levi Coen: Not much. I went to school and planned on coming home and riding a little but instead I am sitting here watching it rain.

So have you been able to get much riding time in lately?

No. I haven't ridden in about 6 weeks. I broke my wrist and I will hopefully get the cast off tomorrow.

How did you break your wrist?

I was practicing on the motocross track. I got a new quad and I just messed up on a big triple. Everything seems to be looking good and healing up okay. I got a short cast a couple of weeks ago but I am really ready to just get it off and go ride.

Levi Coen is ready to make the move up to the next level.
What have you been doing since the GNCC series wrapped up for the year?

Not much really since I broke my wrist. I have been hanging around with my friends and trying to run a little and a lot of biking. I got a new 400cc and we tore it down and have been building it for next season. I am going to race the Sport 15+ class because I am not old enough yet for the 450cc.

Congratulations on the Youth ATV Over All Championship.

Thanks. That was pretty awesome. We got a really good start to the season. I won first five races then started having mechanical difficulties. I still managed to win every race I was able to finish so that was pretty cool.

I know you had a chance to ride the bigger bike at a couple races at the end of the season, how did that all work out for you?

I rode the Schoolboy A/B at the John Penton and at Power Line Park. The first time at the Penton I got the hole shot and had the lead until we got into the woods. My chain just kept coming off a bunch that race and it was not what I really wanted. In St. Clairsville at Power Line Park I was running good and I was battling with Matthew Harris and Jay Shadron for most of the race. I ended up 3rd but I ran out gas n the last lap.

How about your trip to Las Vegas?

We had a decent flight out and it was definitely something different. It was the first time I had ever been there. It was a blast. I met some really cool people there like Joel Hetrick and some of the other ATV Motocross guys. I was there to receive an award for the GNCC Youth Championship. It was a pretty big honor. There were a ton of people there at the awards ceremony.

Did you do anything exciting in Vegas besides the banquet?

We hung out with Roman Brown and his family. We walked all around the strip and checked out the hotels and stuff. It was pretty cool.

So what are your plans for the winter?

My plan is to ride as much as I can. My riding time will depend on the weather conditions around here but we usually go south at least once during the Christmas break and I get a little riding time in then.

What are your plans for next year?

As I had said earlier I will be riding the Sport 15+ so my program will be changing. I have been riding for Pitster Pro which was my big sponsor and they don't make a 400cc or 450cc so I will be changing bikes. A lot of my sponsors will stay the same other than that though.

It has been great talking with you. I guess I will see you at the banquet. Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the call and I would also like to say thanks to my mom and dad for everything they do. I want to thank Pitster Pro for all their help and GMR, SCOTT USA, MAXXIS, SCR, ELKA, HARDCORE RACING TEAM, FREEK RACING GEAR, FAST TRAXX PROMOTIONS
