Unfortunately we lost another member of the GNCC Family.  Richard Clarke raced the Masters B/C (50+), and passed away after a heart attack while racing at the SETRA Highpoint Hare Scramble in Perry, Georgia, over the weekend.  Tricia Rowland has supplied us with the following information.


Richard M. Clarke WARNER ROBINS, GA - Richard Madison Clarke, 52, of Garden City, SC, died Sunday, November 14, 2010, in Warner Robins, GA, after a brief illness. He was born in Pensacola, Florida, a son of Ola Bullard Clarke and the late Robert Vaughan Clarke, Jr. He earned a business degree from Clemson University and was a salesman with Chris Yahnis Corporation in Florence, SC, for 19 years. Richard enjoyed motorcycle racing, fishing, and scuba diving. Survivors, in addition to his mother, Ola B. Clarke, of Atlanta, GA, include his wife, Linda Lee Schoenthal of Georgetown, SC; a son, Richard Madison Clarke, Jr., of Columbia; a daughter, Allison Renee Clarke, also of Columbia; and two brothers, Robert Vaughan (Vicki) Clarke, III, and Stephen Andrew (Gail) Clarke, both of Florence. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, November 18, 2010, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home in Florence. A private service will be held Friday afternoon at Pawley's Island, SC. Memorials may be made to Blue Water Fishing Club Kids' Tournament, 1409 King Avenue, Florence, SC 29501
