JG Off Road Closes Season with a Win, and Raises $600 for Breast Cancer Awareness

Crawfordsville, Indiana (October 25, 2010) -- The GEICO/JG Off Road Monster Energy Kawasaki crew got their pink on for Breast Cancer Awareness this weekend at the Amsoil Ironman GNCC, the final round of the 2010 GNCC season. Not only did the team raise $600 in funds for the Susan G. Komen fund, Womens rider Ashley Crouch also walked away with her first win of the season. Jimmy Jarrett turned in a solid 6th place finish.

"It's great to see Ashley finish off the year with a win," said team co-manager JT Bennett. "She's been dancing around that podium spot all year, sort of like Scotty.  It's good momentum for next year. I'd like to apologize to Jimmy for having to take the team on his shoulders for the pro race in the afternoon. He was the only one out there because Scotty is hurt. Before the race we told him, 'No matter what happens we want to see you take the checkered flag.' He did a good job."

The Ironman track was more than a little dusty for a team who loves the mud but the weather was beautiful and warm. Samantha Steiner was first off the start line but Crouch was close behind in the Womens race. Crouch passed as they moved into the woods and led until LeeAnn Bange overtook her. From there, Crouch was in hot pursuit until she overtook Bange on the third lap. The two battled until the end until Crouch caught her on the fourth lap to take her first win of the season.

"Finally I got a win," Crouch said. "I was so tired when it was over but so excited!"

Jarrett started the day in 3rd place, but soon the dust overtook him like most riders. He would move to 6th to finish for the day.

"I pretty much finished where I started," Jarrett said. "I'm not really a guy who likes riding in the dust, and I spent most of the race riding around by myself in the dust. I was a little sore but at least I could finish the race. I did everything I could to get to the finish."

"It was definitely an interested race out there," Bennett said. "There were so many spectators, and we have a line at the trailer pretty much all day while we sold hats, shirts and bracelets for the Breast Cancer Awareness fund. We'd like to thank all of the fans and Racer Productions. The whole event was great, with a nice turnout and for a great cause. We were glad to be a part of it."

Jarrett and Watkins would like to thank their sponsors GEICO, JG Off Road, Pirelli, Silkolene, EBC Brakes, Tsubaki, Ride PG, Moose, Pro Moto Billet, CV4, Monster Energy Kawasaki, Smith G2, IMS, FMF, Sidi, Renthal and No-Toil.
