The weather was perfect for this round and the track was in good shape, with some dust in the higher elevations and mud in the low lying areas, but those conditions were not a problem for Rick Cecco. The number 399 came off the line in third and was looking forward to unleashing the power of his newly built engine by Flynt Custom Performance and The BOM Racing. "I am still getting use to the new engine program and the power which I unfortunately wheelied off the start and had to back off on the throttle a bit dropping me back to 3rd," stated Cecco, who soon put the extra power to use as he worked his way into the number one spot in his class.
Once out front Cecco seemed unstoppable. He looked smooth and fast as he increased his lead with each lap. "I have been working on dialing in my Fox Shox to handle the extra horsepower of the new engine and everything came together and I felt great out there," said Cecco.
Cecco would go on to take his class win with a time of 01:56:04, which was over two minutes ahead of second place, and was also solid enough to earn him a spot in the top ten overall. "This was a great race for me and I am looking forward to the final round and taking another win at the Ironman," stated Cecco.
The final round of the 2010 GNCC series will be held at Crawfordsville, Indiana on October 23rd, where Rick Cecco will be looking to extend his winning streak and end his season on top.
