2010 Power Line GNCC

Team Off Camber Racing/Yamaha/Fastway/Klim/DRD

The Off-Camber, Pro-Moto Billet/Fastway Performance, Klim Gear, Dubach Racing Development, Rekluse Clutch, Yamaha Race Team headed just down the road to race the 12th round of the GNCC Series, Power Line Park in St. Clairsville, Ohio.  It had rained in the area just before the race, so there were some deep mud holes down in the low lands.  The weather for the race was beautiful and the track was rough, choppy, wide-open and very dusty.

Amanda Mastin went back to her old ways and got a bad start in the Women's Class.  On the first lap Amanda was 3rd in the Class with Maria Forsberg leading and pulling away fast.  Maria has been charging on the first lap and Mandi knows that if she is going to challenge her, she must stay with her the first lap and push her to the end.  Leeann Bange and Ashley Crouch joined the chase, but Mandi began to pull away from them and settle into 2nd position.   On the last lap, just 3 miles from the finish Mandi's rear hub exploded on the rim and she was unable to go any farther.  Mandi still finished 4th and Leeann Bange finished 2nd, with Ashley Crouch finishing 3rd.  Maria finished 1st in the class.  Maria was a very impressive 8th Overall, Amanda was 92nd, Ashley was 58th and Leeann ended up 41st Overall.  Amanda is still in 2nd place behind Maria for the Championship.  Amanda is now focusing entirely on the ISDE in Mexico, which she leaves for in just a few weeks.

XC1 Pro Eric Bailey got a bad start and the day never really improved.  Eric pushed to get back in the race and then his bike began to quit.  Eric made about 3 laps and then headed for the pits.  The fuel pump on his bike was cutting out and he could not go on.  Eric still finished 12th in the Class.  Eric is currently holding on to 12th in the Class.

Chase Bishop is still recovering from an injury to the face he suffered at the last National Enduro a few weeks ago.  Chase will have surgery next week, but is expected to make a full recovery and be back racing next year.  The whole Team misses him and wishes him a speedy recovery.  Chase is still sitting comfortably in 2nd for the Series Points and Jordan Ashburn has a solid lock on 1st.

Duane Conner rode in the Vet A Class.  Duane pushed past Phil Smith for the lead and never looked back.  Duane stopped for gas and began to push for a good Overall and he got it.  Phil eventually had problems and went down hard.  Duane ended up with the win and Phil was 2nd in the Class.  Duane finished a very impressive 22nd Overall for the day and is currently 2nd in the points.  Duane can still win the Championship, but he needs to win the last round of the year.  Duane's brother, Daryl attended the race and was impressed with Duane's ride.  Daryl is fast like big brother and the Team was on him all day to make a rare appearance in Crawfordsville. If you see a fast dude on one of our bikes in Klim gear it will be Daryl. Let's hope it happens!

Rudy Austin made the trip over to continue his Championship run in the Vet B Class.  Rudy got a good start and began to pull away from the pack.  On the second lap Rudy had some issues and the pack began to make up some time, but Rudy was able to get back on track and pulled away from his Class and pushed his way forward for one of his best Overalls, 66th.  Rudy is now in 1st place for the Championship and needs to have a good ride in Crawfordsville to hold on to the Championship.

Jordan Rose also came over from Great Britain to try his hand at some GNCC racing.  Jordan has rode Moto-Cross most of his life and is good friends with XC2 rider Jason Thomas.  Jordan has never raced a 3 hour and was surprised at the speed and the endurance needed to go the distance.  Jordan gutted it out in the XC1 Pro Class and ended up 11th in the Class and a very impressive 24th Overall for his first try at it.  Jordan is going to race Crawfordsville, before heading home.
