MSR Race Report: Big Buck

Corona, CA. - With a completely different weather scenario for the 4th round of the GNCC series, the MSR Am Pro squad was looking to improve their respective results from the last rounds rain soaked adventure. On a dry and dusty track, Thad Duvall used a first lap crash that held up a lot of the racers to get to the front. After making a small mistake coming through the barrel section, Thad relinquished the lead to Josh Strang with two laps to go and was able to come through the checkers with a hard fought 2nd place.
Grabbing the holeshot at the start of the 3 hour afternoon race was Thad's MSR Am Pro teammate and defending GNCC Champion Paul Whibley. Running up front for the majority of the first lap, Paul was looking for that elusive first win of the season, but found an unfortunate mud hole instead. While not losing too much time, it was just enough to let both Duvall and Strang get by and stretch a little bit of time over Paul. Ever the Champion, Paul mentioned that his teammate was riding great and he just wasn't able to match his pace this day, but was still able to hold on to the 3rd place spot on the podium.
Other notable MSR riders were Barry Hawk (7th XC-1 Pro) Ryan Belue (1st 4 Stroke A-Lites and Top Amateur) and Maria Forsberg (1st Women).
