GNCC Racing has recieved tragic news today regarding Hoyt Penland, a former GNCC racer and the son of multi-time GNCC Champion Mike Penland. Hoyt passed away in his sleep on Thursday night, the cause of death is still unknown. Hoyt was 26 years old.
We recieved this note from Can-Am Racing Manager Jimmy O'Dell:
Please be advised that Mike Penland's son Hoyt passed away in his sleep yesterday. Cause of death is yet to be determined. I spoke with Mike a few minutes ago and asked what I could do. "Pray"was his response. Services are tentatively planned for Sunday in GA.Please feel free to notify others of this tragic news. Jimmie O'Dell - Can-Am Race Mgr.
